V&A Waterfront Cape Town

Discover South Africa , a land of extraordinary beauty and incredible diversity! With its nine biomes, it offers environments ranging from the Mediterranean climate of the Cape to semi-desert zones and humid montane forests, providing unparalleled biodiversity and habitats for unique plant and animal species.

Get ready to explore 21 national parks, including the famous Kruger National Park, and over 700 nature reserves. Here you can admire approximately 200 mammal species, 800 bird species, and the legendary "Big Five": lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino!

The country officially recognizes 11 languages, including IsiZulu, IsiXhosa, Afrikaans, English, and other Bantu languages: Sesotho, Setswana, Venda, SiSwati, and Ndebele.

Although isiZulu is the most widely spoken language, English is the lingua franca, especially in urban areas.

This linguistic plurality reflects the diversity of its peoples: Africans of various ethnic groups (such as Zulu, Xhosa, Sotho), descendants of European settlers (Afrikaners and English), Coloured (mixed-race) communities, and populations of Indian and Asian origin. Each group brings with it distinct traditions, customs, religions, and cultural practices, all integral to the country's social and cultural life. A mosaic of cultural identities coexisting in a single nation, with a complex and fascinating history of conflict and reconciliation waiting to be explored.
